There’s nothing quite as relaxing as the scent of essential oils during a yoga class. But have you ever wondered why your yoga teacher uses oils? Whether you’re using sandalwood, patchouli, frankincense, lavender or bergamot, yogis these days are increasingly integrating essential oils into the yoga experience – and for a good reason! These aromatic compounds—found in plant seeds, bark, stems, roots, and flowers—enhance mental and emotional wellness, relieve sore muscles, and support physician and spiritual well-being.
During this workshop, Amanda Tarrell and Brooke Garbison will lead you through:
+30 minute flow: Gentle and beginner-friendly, incorporating oils to enhance your practice
+15 minute savasana: Includes singing bowls, oils and a neck/head massage
+30-45 minutes of essential oil education: The science behind how oils work, extraction methods, uses and benefits of a wide variety of oils – includes time to create your own essential oil roller ball!
About Amanda Tarrell:
Amanda turned to essential oils when she needed help navigating stress, the demands of daily life, and emotional buildup. She is Nebraska raised, but chased her big city dream and currently lives in Chicago. Now, she serves elementary students as a speech pathologist by day, and learns about plants, mindfulness, emotional release, and holistic self care by night – and teaches others along the way!
